Grade 6 • Review • Choose a strategy for each problem. Explain or check your thinking where requested.

Sample questions

  1. A table for y = 1x includes (0,0), (1,1), and (2,3). Find the incorrect pair, correct it and plot the corrected table.
  2. The plotted points show hours on the x-axis and miles on the y-axis. Read the ordered pairs, write a distance rule, and explain which quantity depends on the other.
  3. A rule y = 1x relates packs x to pencils y. Could the point (2,2) represent this rule? Verify with the equation and explain the coordinate order.
  4. For y = 1x, make a table at x = 0, 1, 2, then plot the pairs. Explain how the graph agrees with the equation.
  5. For y = 3x, make a table at x = 0, 1, 2, then plot the pairs. Explain how the graph agrees with the equation.
